PROJECT GRADUATION--2010
Parents of Washington High School Seniors,
Project Graduation 2010 will be a supervised, alcohol-free, drug-free, all-night celebration at the University of West Florida that all seniors at Booker T. Washington High School are invited to attend. It is an event organized by BTWHS parent volunteers who form the Project Graduation Committee. The goal of Project Graduation is to provide seniors with a safe way to celebrate their graduation and has been a tradition at BTWHS for 12 years.
This year’s graduation ceremony will be held at the Civic Center at 1 pm on June 2, 2010. The main event of Project Graduation is the all-night party that will be held on graduation night from 10 pm to 5 am at the University of West Florida.
Project Graduation is for BTWHS seniors only. Students must purchase a $25.00 ticket in order to attend the all-night party. Seniors will board the buses at the school the night of graduation and return by bus the following morning. Once at UWF, students will not be able to leave the facility.
The venue has an over-sized gym and a huge activity room. There will be basketball, volleyball, music, entertainment and food. Senior parent volunteers will supervise the activities. Other volunteers will be at UWF to help organize the entertainment and food.
BTWHS Project Graduation costs from $10,000-$20,000. All of the money is spent directly for the benefit of the students and covers the cost of renting the facility, providing entertainment, transportation, security, and food. Please consider making a tax deductible donation payable to WHS Project Graduation and mailing it to P.O Box 30612, Pensacola, FL 32503. Your name or business’ name will be included in a program which will showcase our sponsors and supporters. We are accepting donations now! Support from other community members is also greatly appreciated.
Senior parents are asked to volunteer their time to make Project Graduation a success. Parents of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are also strongly encouraged to get involved to become familiar with Project Graduation. All parents are invited to attend the next Project Graduation 2010 meeting on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 6 pm at The Tryon Branch Library on Langley Ave.
Thank you for your support,
